MCHOP.EXE To use the program, first copy it on to your hard drive. 1. Exit out to DOS 2. type: COPY A:MCHOP.EXE C:\VIDEO\MCHOP.EXE and press 3. type: CD\VIDEO and press 4. type: MCHOP and press 5. Enter the number at which to chop the database. EVERYTHING after that number will be DELETED! Please make sure that the number entered is AFTER the last movie entered. IE if the last movie in the database is number 7873, then MCHOP at 7874 or higher. NOTE: Backup all data before performing this function. Also change any movie number offset to zero before running this utility, and verify that the movie number is the "base" number, and not the offset movie number. The MCHOP program creates a backup copy of the movie database when it performs this function called MOVOLD.DAT which can be very large if you are chopping off a large number of blanks. After testing the results of cutting off the database you can delete the movold.dat file by exiting back out to dos in the \VIDEO directory and typing DEL MOVOLD.DAT and press . Only delete the MOVOLD.DAT file if you are certain that the changes you have made are correct. If you are unsure about performing the MCHOP function, please call TVL technical support for assistance.
