These are technical documents that explain the use of certain Rapid Rental Utility programs.
Please do not use these programs without either contacting TVL Technical support, or fully reading and understanding how the use of these programs will affect your Rapid Rental system. PLEASE NOTE: These documents and utility programs apply to Rapid Rental version 3.91 and above.
General

Cashdrwr.doc / Cashdrwr.txt - Instructional document for the installation of an SDMS POS-103 Electronic Cash Drawer.
Keylock.doc / Keylock.txt - Instructional document for the installation of the Rapid Rental Keylock (dongle).
Custform.doc / Custform.txt - Instructional document for the customization of the Rapid Rental sign-up form.
Dayform.doc / Dayform.txt - Instructional document for the customization of the Rapid Rental DAY END report.
Shiftfrm.doc / Shiftfrm.txt - Instructional document for the customization of the Rapid Rental SHIFT END report.
Indexing.doc / Indexingtxt - Instructional document on the importance of regular file indexing, and how it can alleviate potential problems.
Manupd.doc / Manupd.txt - Instructional document for performing a manual Rapid Rental update. The odd computer has trouble running the automatic Rapid Rental update program. This document explains how to manually update your system if there is a problem running the "update" program.

Nettips.doc / Nettips.txt - Tips about Network setup and network maintenance as it pertains to Rapid Rental software.
Novprint.doc / Novrint.txt - Instructional document on setting up print Queues for Rapid Rental on Novell 2.2.
Sysident.doc / Sysident.txt - Instructional document on how to determine system configuration, and network type.
Wsprint.doc / Instructional document on setting up 40 Column STAR receipt printer, and setting up different printer types on different workstations for Rapid Rental.
Utilities
PLEASE NOTE: These utilities apply to Rapid Rental version 3.91 and above ONLY.These files have been compressed using the PKZIP utility version 2.04g. You must PKUNZIP the file before running the .exe file. If you do not have PKZIP or PKUNZIP, you can download them.
Arctrans.doc / Arctrans.txt - Instructional document on how to Archive old or unwanted transactions from the Rapid Rental system. The Program file is called arctrans.zip
Editday.doc / Editday.txt - Instructional document for using the editday.zip program to manually edit a Rapid Rental DAY END report.
Expandm.doc / Expandm.txt - Instructional document for using the expadm.zip program to create blank movie records. (ie: expand database from 500 items to 1000 items.)
Mchop.doc / Mchop.txt - Instructional document for using the mchop.zip program to cut off the end of the movies.dat file. If you have 5000 item records, and you want to cut off the last 2000 items, you can use the mchop.exe program to remove the last 2000 items.
Cchop.doc / Cchop.txt - Instructional document for using the cchop.zip program to cut off the end of the customer.dat file (like mchop.exe above). If you have 10,000 customers records, and you want to cut off the last 5000, you can use the cchop.exe program to remove the last 5000 customers.
Speedup.doc / Speedup.txt - Instructional document for using the speedup.zip program to speedup the scanning speed of the computer when looking for past transactional and late information.
Cmovs.doc / Cmovs.txt - Instructional document for using the cmovs.zip program to make special modifications to the movies.dat item database file in Rapid Rental. WARNING: This program should only be used on the advise of a TVL technician.
Ccust.doc / Ccust.txt - Instructional document for using the ccust.zip program to make special modifications to the customer.dat customer database file in Rapid Rental. WARNING: This program should only be used on the advice of a TVL technician.
